PD Celebrates State Volleyball Championship 50th Anniversary
Throughout the 2021 volleyball season, the Nebraska School Activities Association is encouraging its member schools to celebrate 50 years of the State Volleyball Championships. Potter-Dix hosted their ceremony on Friday, October 8, when the Coyotes hosted the Hay Springs Hawks. Former players and coaches gathered together to reminisce and watch the new generation of Lady Coyotes take the court. Following the Coyote win, all of those who were present were recognized. Those in attendance and their year of participation were: Coach Hicks ~ 72, 75, 76; Robin (Smith) Prochazka ~ 72, 75; Jenny (Reed) Cook ~ 72, 75; Gina (Wiekhorst) Mathewson ~ 72; Deb (Slama) Bohac ~ 72; Jane (Slama) Enevoldsen ~ 72; Kathy (Mathewson) Kokes ~ 72; Jenni (Steele) Cook ~ 72; Joni Killham ~ 75, 76; Janet (Carlsom) Thomas ~ 75;76 Jennifer (Juelfs) Thomas ~ 75, 76; Lisa (Hardman) Bickford ~ 75, 76 and Deb (Schilz) Surber ~ 75, 76; Staci (Wurdeman) Magninie ~ 89; Lori (Jung) Biesecker ~ 89; Assistant Coach Kristi jung ~ 99; Nicole (Monheiser) Reeve ~ 99; Whitney (Shaw) Hurt ~ 99 and Janetta (Steele) Lenstrom ~ 99. Coach Mary Nielsen from 1999 was also attendance but was unable to stay for the celebration.
