2020-2021 Finalized Reopening Plan

Potter-Dix Finalized Reopening Plan

  • School will begin as scheduled on August 19th with an 11:30 dismissal.

  • Teachers will give students pre-tests and other informal assessments to determine if students are lacking necessary skills or if remedial instruction is needed.

  • Teachers are trying to keep students as physically separated within classrooms while still allowing interaction with one another as necessary in an educational setting.

  • Transportation will be provided to the normal locations and rural routes.  Students will have assigned seats to help identify close contacts.

  • Custodial and lunch staff will spend extra time cleaning and disinfecting.  The district has purchased electrostatic fogging machines to assist in disinfecting the buildings and vehicles.  These fogging machines will be used in addition to our normal cleaning and disinfecting procedures.

  • Hand washing will be emphasized and hand sanitizer will be available throughout the buildings and vehicles.

  • If there are any confirmed cases within the staff or students only the people required by PPHD would be quarantined and the rest of the district would function as planned.

  • Parents are requested to screen their children prior to coming to school and if they are sick please keep them at home.  Administration will be understanding of the situation and work closely with parents to determine excused and unexcused absences.

  • Masks, temperature checks prior to entering the building and vehicles, as well as the use of remote learning will not be required at this time.  If parents want their child to wear a mask they will be welcome to do so.

Due to the ever changing nature of the pandemic, moving forward the administration and Board of Education will monitor conditions related to the spread of COVID-19 and hold additional meetings to modify this plan as changing conditions dictate.
